NetherRealm Reportedly Working On Marvel Game

According to a recent report by We Got This Covered, NetherRealm Studios, the organization behind the Mortal Kombat games, could be developing a new Marvel game. Gaming industry insider Daniel Richtman claims that the title is already in production.

Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon caused rumors to further circulate following a May 3rd Twitter post. “‘Wow. [James Gunn] has managed to work on DC and MARVEL movies. That’s impressive.'” wrote Boon on Twitter in response to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 receiving its 2023 release date. This is significant because Gunn directing and writing The Suicide Squad makes him one of the few people on the planet that’s gotten the chance to work on huge projects for both Marvel and DC,” EventHubs‘ Dakota Hills writes. “The way Boon’s tweet is worded and the thinking emoji at the end can easily be interpreted to mean that he too could be joining that club.”

NetherRealm Studios is a Chicago-based video game developer that was founded in 2010. The company is most famous for developing and distributing the Injustice DC fighting game series and the Mortal Kombat series.
