Polygon, an Ethereum scaling and infrastructure development platform, recently unveiled a partnership with Community Gaming. This agreement will see Community Gaming use Polygon’s payment network in almost all of the company’s organized esports tournaments.
“By integrating with Community Gaming we continue to bridge the gap between decentralized technologies and the competitive gaming community with fast and cheap payments combined with secure and trustless on-chain transactions,” said Sandeep Nailwal, the Co-Founder of Polygon.
The first Polygon-powered Community Gaming tournament will be held in mid-August. The Skyweaver Summer Series Powered by Polygon is expected to have a prize pool of $2,500.
Days later, Polygon announced the launch of Polygon Studios. This organization has already established a $100 million fund to back blockchain-based gaming projects.
According to Polygon, this studio will “bridge the gap between Web 2 and Web 3 gaming.” Furthermore, the gaming studio plans to work on establishing blockchain-based games while Polygon aids in the development of custom NFTs and NFT marketplaces.
