Guy “Dr Disrespect” Beahm recently unveiled plans to launch his own gaming studio. According to a recent job listing shared on Twitter, Beahm is reportedly searching for a co-founder to start a new “AA/AAA gaming studio.”

Dr Disrespect in partnership with BoomTV is taking on the game industry by storm and incubating a new AA/AAA gaming studio that has a unique twist to it,” reads a job posting on the Champions Club website. “The studio plans to forge a partnership with a select list of mega influencers and then work closely with them to launch their dream gaming title. Those gaming titles will either be incubated and developed OR partner/co-develop with existing indie game developers and launched as mega titles.”

This is not the first time Dr DisRespect was involved with a major gaming company. He previously worked as a level developer and community manager for Call of Duty during a brief stint with Sledgehammer Games.

The Profit‘s Take:

It’s hard for me to not love this plan because I am a huge fan of the doc. However, a movie might have been a safer brand extension. I wonder if this will change the industry because influencers brought in to help the development may be given special financial benefits that could make them owners or part-owners of the studio/game. If Dr Disrespect does have success with this, it could have major repercussions for game development going forward.
