Report: Twitter Users Paying Esports Organizations To Help Them Get Verified

According to streaming journalist Zach Bussey, some Twitter users have begun paying esports organizations to help them get verified. This comes after Bussey posted a discussion on the social media platform between a Twitter user and an unknown esports org’s official account. During this conversation, the esports org said it would help get the individual verified on Twitter in exchange for $300 in Bitcoin.

In response to this posting, other users said that this was not an isolated incident. In fact, it is being reported that at least 50 people have become verified on the website using this method of communication.

At this time, Bussey has not revealed the identity of the esports organization or the Twitter user.
