XSET recently announced that it had agreed to a partnership with the music brand PRTL. As a result of this deal, the two organizations have come together to launch StreamJ, which will serve as a space for streamers to use the music they find on the internet for free while creating content.

“Music is a big part of gamer and streamer culture, and one without the other limits self-expression,” said XSET’s chief business development officer, Clinton Sparks. “It also prohibits new artists and their music from being exposed to new audiences—for free. Being able to provide emerging new artists’ music to streamers is a win/win/win.”

The platform is currently in its beta phase. This allows content creators to go to StreamJ’s Spotify profile so they can play any songs listed on the account without worrying about DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) issues.

Right now, the StreamJ profile is mostly made up of PRTL’s DMCA-free lo-fi music. However, the eventual goal of StreamJ is to create a space where artists can promote their music to a gaming-specific audience while building out their brand.
