According to new data from Newzoo, 42% of baby boomers (people between the ages of 56 and 65) are gamers. This comes as a weighted average across 20 different global markets that track people who have played video games on a PC, console, or mobile device over the last six months.
Furthermore, Newzoo‘s insights showed that 34% of boomers have played video games on a mobile device within the last six months, leading the category. After that, boomers preferred PC gaming followed by console gaming. This research also revealed that baby boomers play video games for two-and-a-half hours a week on average.
In Europe, the average video game player is 31.3 years old. This number was revealed in a study that was published by the UK gaming industry trade body Ukie.
