Danish gaming peripherals manufacturer SteelSeries has announced a new esports tournament called the Apex Legends Prime Cup, which began on November 13th. The tournament features 20 teams from the Americas competing for a $10,000 prize pool. 15 of these teams will be invited while the remaining five spots are for qualifier teams.
“The SteelSeries Apex Legends Prime Cup marks the fourth exclusive SteelSeries event in a series of tournaments for the year so far,” SteelSeries said in a release. “Previous SteelSeries tournaments have featured the world’s most popular esports titles, including CS:GO, Rainbow Six, and Overwatch, and seen the likes of FaZe Clan, London Spitfire, Red Bull OG, and SpaceStation Gaming compete for over $30,000 in prize money.”
The tournament will also feature giveaways of exclusive SteelSeries gaming gear themed around Apex Legends. The tournament branding will also focus on SteelSeries’ new Prime line of esports gaming peripherals.
Some of the invited teams include SpaceStation Gaming, 100 Thieves, Complexity, Cloud9, G2 Esports, Ghost Gaming, NRG, Sentinels, TSM, and XSET.
