“New World” Downtime Announced To Repair Wealth Transfers

Amazon Game Studios were forced to hold downtime after players were unable to transfer gold within New World for 24 hours. The game was put on hold on November 2nd, before relaunching early the next day.

“We will be holding downtime tonight to re-enable all forms of wealth transfers including player to player trading and the trading post across all regions,” The New World team wrote in a blog post. “Due to the importance of wealth transfers and their impact on the experience in-game, we wanted to prioritize re-enabling these mechanics as soon as possible.”

To remedy the problems that the lack of any wealth transfers, including the Trading Post, had caused, players will be receiving a “make-good” in the future. No information of what this will be has been revealed.

Alongside this downtime, New World still received its weekly update. However, details of the changes were not announced.
