Nintendo And Panda Global Launching First Official “Super Smash Bros.” Esports Series

Nintendo recently unveiled a partnership with Panda Global. This deal will see the two organizations launch an officially licensed competitive series based around the hit video game franchise Super Smash Bros.

An official tournament hosted by the two organizations will be held for the hit game Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Another tournament featuring the hit GameCube game Super Smash Bros. Melee will also be held. Both tournament series will take place in North America sometime next year.

“This partnership with Panda Global is the next step in Nintendo’s efforts to create a more consistent, fun and, welcoming competitive environment for our players and fans,” said Bill Trinen, senior director of product marketing at Nintendo of America. “We are proud to stand with an organization like Panda Global to celebrate and support the ever-growing competitive Super Smash Bros. community and create a space where all players can test and hone their competitive skills.”

Super Smash Bros. is a crossover-style fighting game that features famous characters, places, and themes from all across Nintendo’s video game portfolio. Super Smash Bros. Melee was released in 2001 while Super Smash Bros. Ultimate came out in 2018.
