On November 4th, Google Stadia began rolling out a new feature that gives players the ability to join games without first receiving an invite. This aims to make the platform more accessible and similar to traditional gaming consoles.
“Multiplayer games like Far Cry 6 let other players join your game directly from your profile without an invite from you. This feature, available only in select games, is off by default,” reads a Google Stadia support page. “To enable it, go into your privacy settings under “Your activity”
This new option will reportedly be turned off by default when users access Google Stadia. However, this feature can be turned on automatically for supported Stadia accounts.
