Developer 343 Industries announced that they will be working with tournament organizers ESL and Faceit this year and next, to create a new esports ecosystem built around Halo Infinite. The Halo Championship Series will take place in the regions of North America, Mexico, and Europe, as well as Australia and New Zealand.
In a press release, 343 Industries spoke about Halo’s “largest, strongest, most open, and most competitive” esports program to date. The ecosystem is also supported by in-game purchases. Players can qualify for these tournaments using regional and world rankings. The World Championships will be held at the end of October 2022 in Seattle, Washington.
Tournaments are set to be held in Europe and North America under the ESL Dreamhack brand. With Dreamhack Anaheim in mid-February, there is already an offline event for the competition series in the USA.
The beta version of Halo Infinite multiplayer was launched on November 15th. The single-player mode with a campaign around the main character Master Chief is set to appear on December 8th.
