On September 30th, Chess.com began using the Azul Platform Prime service to improve the website’s user experience. The goal of this program is to make the gaming experience more reliable and responsive.
Previously, Chess.com players had experienced application delays that often lasted several seconds and interrupted the flow of games. Now, with the use of Azul Platform Prime, application stalls have almost been completely eliminated, giving developers a big win.
“Because Azul Platform Prime powers our Java-based platform, we don’t have to worry about application speed or infrastructure costs,” said Chess.com CEO Erik Allebest. “We can focus on our members’ experience and rest assured that Azul Platform Prime will handle thousands of moves a second with the best performance possible on the world’s best chess website.”
Chess.com is the world’s largest online chess website. The organization reports having over 65 million members, which includes over 10 million daily players.
