The University Of Warwick’s Esports Society Launches Program For Underrepresented Individuals

Warwick esports, which is the gaming division of the University of Warwick, recently launched a new community. The Pack will act as a safe environment for female and non-binary gamers at the school.

This program will provide select individuals with a community of gamers that they can interact with and compete against. Simultaneously, The Pack will help connect female and non-binary gamers with esports industry professionals so they can learn more about the market.

“For a long time, we have realized that video games have acted as a medium that gets a lot of women and non-binary individuals interested in getting involved, whether through competing or just playing and enjoying the social aspect of it all, and this community and the esports center will give them a safe space to do that,” said Clare Green, the creative and digital communities manager for the University of Warwick. “For the community to be launched and go from 0 to 50 members in a matter of days just shows that this is an exciting new beginning for esports at Warwick.”

The University of Warwick is a public research institute based in Coventry, England that was founded in 1965. There are over 20,000 students currently enrolled at the school.
