Disguised Toast Leaves Facebook Gaming

After two years with Facebook Gaming, popular streamer Disguised Toast announced on Twitter that he would be leaving for greener pastures. While he has not said where his next stop would be, the speculation has already begun.

“The last 2 years have been some of the best moments of my career and I wish them [Facebook Gaming] nothing but success,” Toast wrote. “Can’t wait to see them achieve greater things in the future.”

His career began on Twitch, where Disguised Toast racked up a massive following of more than 2 million. And while he would often do streams back on Twitch, one can assume he won’t be returning to the platform any time soon. “So, a lot of people wonder why I changed platforms,” Toast said. “It’s because two years ago, Twitch offered me less money than what I was already making on the platform, and I told them this is the most insulted I’ve ever felt.”

The offer that Twitch made to him two years ago was 30 times less in comparison to the offer he received from competing platforms, like Facebook Gaming, according to Toast. This was ultimately one of the biggest reasons for his decision to switch platforms, especially because he was already one of the more successful creators on the site. He even asked his fellow content creator friends what they were offered by Twitch, and they said they were set to get half of what they’d receive from YouTube and Facebook. It was mindboggling for Toast to try to understand why he was essentially lowballed when he was one of the larger faces of the platform and still rising in popularity.

Now that Toast is a free agent, he should certainly have many options open to him. One option that he could choose is YouTube Gaming, which has become a rising choice for many content creators over the past year, and where Toast already has more than 3.5 million subscribers. Big-name streamers like TimTheTatman, DrLupo, CouRage, ValkyRae, and Dr Disrespect have all made the switch and have had plenty of success since. One thing we can probably guess though is that he won’t be returning to Twitch any time soon.
