On November 6th, a partnership was unveiled between the New York Insitute of Technology and Fnatic. This deal will see both organizations work together to conduct research on esports performance wear.

New York Tech will work with Fnatic’s Performance Unit to study the benefits of compressions sleeves for esports athletes. The research trial, which is expected to last six months, will record results for both the upper body and lower body.

“At Fnatic, we’re dedicated to pushing the boundaries of esports performance to make marginal gains in the gaming arena. One way in which we are looking to improve performance is by conducting relevant research that can then be used to inform our decision-making,” said Jens Hofer, Director of Fnatic’s High-Performance Unit. “This particular collaboration with the New York Institute of Technology, a university that is pioneering esports and gaming-related research, will help us better understand the benefits of compression sleeves and in turn, use these insights to inform how to use the technology and develop our own products in the future.”

Fnatic is one of the world’s most famous esports organizations. The London-based company was founded in 2004. They currently have rosters competing in popular games like Dota 2, CS:GO, Fortnite, League of Legends, and so on.
