Report: Bobby Kotick Says He Would Consider Stepping Away From Activision-Blizzard

Bobby Kotick, the CEO of Activision-Blizzard, reportedly told senior management personnel that he would consider stepping away from his role with the company “if he can’t quickly fix the culture problems” within the organization. This information was revealed by sources familiar with Kotick who spoke to The Wall Street Journal.

According to sources, these comments were made during an executive meeting that took place on November 19th, 2021. Kotick said he would consider stepping away from the organization if the company’s misconduct issues were not fixed “with speed.”

On November 17th, Activision-Blizzard shareholders issued a letter to the company calling for the resignation of CEO Bobby Kotick as well as two other long-serving board members. This came just days after a report from The Wall Street Journal indicated that Bobby Kotick knew about numerous cases of sexual harassment in the company’s working environment and worked to cover up those alleged incidents.

Activision-Blizzard employees have expressed that they want Kotick gone. In fact, the group staged a company walkout and put together a petition calling for his resignation that bears 1,784 employee signatures.
