Despite speculation that Target would be restocking their shelves with PS5’s and Xbox series X&S in time for Black Friday, the optimism proved to be unfounded. Target retail stores won’t be getting any restocks of these gaming consoles for the foreseeable future, which is disheartening news for gamers who have been waiting to purchase their consoles in time for the holidays.
“There is no target drop today,” said popular game reviewer and YouTuber, Jake Randall. “A lot of misinformation is going around by those who don’t know the delivery dates for the consoles are tomorrow and Sunday, therefore the stores literally don’t have any new shipments yet.”
The chip-shortage situation is so bad, that there is no certainty about when the stocks will finally come. As of now, Target has released no news about a restock of any of the next-gen consoles. Fans will have to wait even longer to get a chance to buy their favorite console since availability is scarce, and whenever there is availability, the stock gets depleted literally in minutes.
Since most of the retail stores follow the first come first serve policy, fans need to be more competitive. And when it comes to online purchases through e-commerce websites, the situation is even tighter than physical stores. On an e-commerce website, the products can go out of stock in the blink of an eye. There are hundreds of people, or maybe millions, waiting in line to order their favorite next-gen consoles. So, in order to increase the odds of successfully ordering their favorite console, fans must keep on checking and refreshing their e-commerce website pages to have an edge over others.
