12 Schools Launch The Canadian Collegiate Esports League

12 Canadian higher-education institutions recently joined forces to launch the Canadian Collegiate Esports League (CCEL). This organization looks to offer esports competitions, scholarships, and career opportunities to Canadian college students.

The 12 schools participating in the league are listed below:

  • University of Victoria
  • University of Regina
  • Lethbridge College
  • University of Lethbridge
  • Northern Alberta Institute of Technology
  • University of Winnipeg
  • Simon Fraser University
  • York University
  • University of Manitoba
  • McGill University
  • University of Windsor
  • MacEwan University

The CCEL reportedly plans on hosting esports events for students beginning this Winter. The first competition will be a Forza Motorsport racing tournament. Additionally, the organization also will create an official Canadian esports streaming channel called CCEL TV.
