20% Of Xbox Cloud Gamers Only Use Touch Controls

Microsoft has been adding custom Xbox touch controls to several of the organization’s xCloud games, which can be streamed to Android and iOS devices. Now, it is being revealed that 20% of Xbox Cloud gamers exclusively use these touch controls.

“[Twenty] percent of our Xbox Cloud Gaming users use touch as their exclusive method of playing games,” said Monty Hernandez, a senior program manager at Xbox. “As such, it’s important to us that the touch-enabled games we launch are relevant and, most importantly, play well with touch controls. We’ve seen, on average, a 2x increase in usage for titles available via Xbox Cloud Gaming, across genres, that implement touch controls.”

The organization reports that there are even some titles where 30% of the users utilize touch controls exclusively. This is the case for several hit games including Hades, Dragon’s Quest XI, Minecraft Dungeons, and Football Manager 2022 Xbox Edition.

xCloud is the cloud gaming service that Microsoft uses for Xbox devices. Xbox Cloud gaming was first launched on September 15th, 2020.
