It appears that ValkyRae’s time with Youtube Gaming could be coming to an end. This comes after the streamer revealed in a social media post that her two-year contract with the organization officially ends on January 15th, 2022.
ValkyRae still reportedly owes the organization 198 hours of content before her contract runs out. According to Dexerto, Hofstetter would have to stream for at least five hours a day every day from December 4th to January 15th in order to meet her quota.
At this time, Hofstetter has not indicated who she will sign her next contract with. However, she did recently say “I am very happy at YouTube.”
The Profit‘s Take:
This is not ground-breaking news, but it still gives us interesting insight into the streaming marketplace. It almost sounds like she’s looking forward to the end of her contract. There are “prisoner” undertones here. “ONLY 198 MORE HOURS UNTIL I’M FREE!” Maybe this is just a weird kind of negotiating tactic on ValkyRae’s part. I’m sure the contract she signed with YouTube Gaming says she can’t disclose certain information, but, I guess she was able to find a loophole. If this was a professional football player, we would be laughing at this for sure. “THREE MORE PRACTICES UNTIL THE SUPER BOWL!” This struck me as a cry for help. This is a content creator that’s probably not in a good spot. Why else would she put something like this out there?
