Arkadium Launching Subscription-Based Gaming Platform For Seniors

On November 24th, Arkadium, a video game developer based in New York, announced it would be launching a new program called Arkadium Advantage. This cross-platform gaming subscription service has a large portfolio of casual games that are targeted at senior citizens.

Arkadium is offering a collection of over 100 games and apps alongside an ad-free experience for $30 a year or $4 a month. It will also offer automatic discounts to subscribers. Arkadium Advantage members save 15% on all Arkadium purchases and will also receive early access to certain games.

“Our digital game subscription is the perfect gift for all of the grown-ups on your list,” said Jessica Rovello, CEO and co-founder of Arkadium. “From a huge selection of word games to the best versions of games you know and love, Arkadium Advantage makes holiday shopping easy in a year where it’s anything but.”

Arkadium is a New York City-based developer of casual games for users ages 35 and up. The company was originally founded in 2001. Some of the organization’s most famous games are U.B. Funkey, Taptiles, and Bubble Shooter By Arkadium.

The Profit‘s Take:

For senior citizens, this is easier than free-to-play games where you have to fumble around with in-game payments. $4 a month is so little that it’s almost a free-to-play platform. Maybe Arkadium can position itself for the future by getting doctors to prescribe this subscription service to senior patients in order to improve and maintain their mind and motor function skills. That would be REALLY interesting, and something we haven’t seen in the industry yet.
