On December 14th, Medal.tv announced it had raised $60 million in funding to develop community gaming platforms. The funding process was comprised of a Series B round that raised $15 million and a Series C round that brought in $45 million. As a result, Medal.tv named its COO, Aurora Klæboe Ber, to the company’s Board of Directors.
The Series B round was led by Makers Fund, Horizon Ventures, Dune Ventures, and more. Omer Ventures was the leading investor in the Series C funding round.
“The next wave of social networks is built around shared experiences – where you enjoy meaningful things with other people and create memories together while physically apart. We’re building the platform to enable that,” said Medal CEO Pim de Witte.
Medal.tv is a Netherlands-based company that was founded in 2015. The organization has worked to establish a social network for gamers while also providing short-form video editing services for streamers. The Medal.tv community reportedly creates over 2 million video clips daily.
