Indian Gaming Start-Ups Brought $1.6B To India Through The First Nine Months Of 2021

According to a recent report from Maple Capital Advisors, Indian gaming start-ups brought $1.6 billion into the country through the first nine months of 2021. 90% of these investments went to two companies: Dream Sports and the Mobile Premier League.

Venture firms have also invested millions of dollars into other gaming start-ups. Companies like PlayShifu, Zupee, and Winzo are just a few that received money from these organizations. Krafton even invested $22.4 million in Nodwin Gaming.

Mobile gaming currently dominates the Indian market. In fact, it makes up 90% of the Indian gaming industry.

“The Indian gaming ecosystem consists of gamers of all ages, game developers and designers, investors and marketers all working together to come up with the latest cutting-edge games, concepts and offers for players,” said Sean (Hyunil) Sohn, Head of India Division at Krafton, Inc.
