The Sandbox recently announced a partnership with rapper, songwriter, actor, and entrepreneur Snoop Dogg, which will bring the legendary artist into the gaming Metaverse. Said Metaverse includes a virtual reality space where users can interact with others in a computer-generated environment, via Snoop’s own private virtual mansion. Through this virtual gaming geographical domain, Snoop Dogg can easily build, share, and monetize NFTs built on the Ethereum blockchain.
“I’m always on the lookout for new ways of being in touch with fans, and what we have created in The Sandbox is the future of virtual hangouts, NFT drops, and exclusive concerts,” said Snoop Dogg. “We will have a fresh set of ‘Dogg Style’ NFTs that players can integrate into the game experiences and take this online experience to the next level.”
Snoop will also unveil his NFT collection, including avatars and a limited “Snoop Dogg Private Party Pass” that grants users VIP access to special events, Q&As, concerts, and dedicated NFT drops. His collection also includes digital pieces from the Art Blocks Curated collection and 10 highly in-demand MeeBits.
Snoop Dogg has always been on the frontlines of new technologies, investing in telemedicine and rolling out his own esports tournament series called “The Gangsta Gaming League,” in 2019. This newest venture continues his foray into what has become quite the passion project for Snoop.
