The Global Esports Federation (GEF) and Flare Network have partnered top launch the inaugural NFT Cup. The tournament took place in Singapore from December 17th to the 19th, with all players participating receiving their own Global Esports Cup as NFT. The Global Esports Cup, the permanent symbol of the GEF, was introduced by the board in partnership with Flare, the GEF’s global partner.
“With our teams now in Singapore, we are standing at the edge of history,” said Paul J. Foster, CEO of the GEF. “Tomorrow marks a key milestone for the Global Esports Federation as we open the inaugural Global Esports Games in Singapore to millions of fans and gamers worldwide. The Global Esports Cup represents our core values and will always remind us of where we began, inspired by the limitless possibilities of the metaverse. Together with our global partner, Flare, and visionary designer Chad Knight, the Global Esports Cup will be minted as the GEF’s first NFT when it drops at the dawn of the new year. Every athlete at the Singapore 2021 Global Esports Games will receive their very own Global Esports Cup as an NFT.”
Flare with Global Esports Federation gave out a million Songbird ($SGB) to all the teams and players that headed to Singapore and contributed to the broadcast to outreach the whole world. Songbird is the canary network for Flare. It is being utilized for community and advanced testing for applications that might want to launch on Flare.
The Global Esports Cup signifies the Global Esports Federation’s flagship property, the Global Esports Games, and has been designed by Chad Knight, an American digital artist. The Cup on top is enclosed with a world-connected globe. Their foundation is based on five fragments that simultaneously showcase five values and the five continents. The five values include diversity, equality, innovation, inclusion, and fair play.
