Alpha Esports Tech Inc. Undergoes Name Change

On January 11th, Alpha Esports Tech Inc. announced plans to change the companies name to Alpha Metaverse Technologies Inc. Once approved by the Canadian Securities Exchange, the name change will take effect on January 12th, 2022.

Alpha Metaverse Technologies revealed that its AR division has begun developing augmented reality experiences built on Lightship, Niantic’s software toolkit. Once developed, this technology will be applied to the company’s GamerzArena platform during the spring of 2022.

Moreover, GamerzArena will now be offered as a “gaming as a service” platform. This will allow brands, teams, and other organizations to integrate the tournament engine into pre-existing websites and platforms as a white label application.

“We’ve long believed gaming was well-positioned to lead adoption and monetization of Web 3.0 technologies. This name change to Alpha Metaverse Technologies Inc. reflects the Company’s commitment around the Metaverse and its ability to respond to evolving consumer opportunities,” said the CEO of Alpha, Brian Wilneff.
