Gen.G And Mobile 1 Partner For The Tune-Up Program, An NBA 2K Tournament, And More

Gen.G Esports and Mobile 1, the official motor oil brand of the NBA, have announced a new NBA 2K esports campaign, The Tune-Up program, which helps 2K players level up their game while offering them a chance to win cash prizes. The program runs from January to May, with two tournaments set in stone. Gen.G’s official Twitch channel will host both finals, where the winner of each will receive $2,000. The schedule and important dates are as follows:

Tune-Up NBA 2K Tournament 1

  • Registration opens: 12 PM EST, January 11th
  • Registration closes: 2:59 AM EST, January 21st
  • Tournament days: January 22th-23th

Tune-Up NBA 2K Tournament 2

  • Registration opens: 12 PM EST, May 3rd
  • Registration closes: 2:59 AM EST, May 13th
  • Tournament days: May 14th-15th

“We continue to push the envelope and engage gamers with unique opportunities by creating innovative programs with partners like Mobil 1,” said Kahlil Keys, Director of Strategic Partnerships at Gen.G. “We cannot wait to help NBA 2K players and fans ‘Tune Up’ their game and their communities through hands-on support, impactful experiences and instructional content.”

In addition to the esports events, The Tune-Up program also has sweepstakes. Those who enter can win one-on-one coaching sessions with 2K pros. Other prizes include a PlayStation 5 and some virtual currency in NBA 2K. There will also be a four-part live stream series hosted by Twitch partners such as ChicoFilo, its_pikaaa, and Mo Buckets. This will feature tips for improved NBA 2K gameplay. Additionally, Mobil 1 will work with 2K Foundations to fix up a basketball court in Minneapolis. With support from Project Backboard, two more projects in Cleveland and New York will occur.
