The betting company Entain recently announced it would be investing roughly $133 million into Ennovate, a program that funds start-up companies and applications focused on the metaverse. Additionally, Entain will create two retail experience zones where customers will be able to test these new products, which will include AR experiences, VR experiences, NFTs, and more.
Entain has partnered with Verizon, BT, and Theta Labs to launch the Ennovate development hub. This innovation lab will open next month.
“We want to lead the way with new, exciting products and experiences for customers and use our cutting-edge technology to pioneer innovations in sport, gaming, and interactive entertainment for the metaverse,” said Entain’s CEO, Jette Nygaard-Andersen, in a statement.
Entain is an international sports and esports betting organization headquartered on the Isle of Man. The company was founded in 2004 as GVC Holdings.
