Microsoft recently announced it had made several improvements to its Xbox Cloud Gaming service on iPads and iPhones. These adjustments were made to the program even though Apple devices are unable to launch Microsoft’s standalone cloud gaming app xCloud.
“You asked for a better iOS experience, and as a result, we have brought major performance improvements to all supported iPhone and iPad devices,” said Nicole Hilbert, product manager at Xbox. “With these updates, you should have a smoother and more responsive gameplay experience.”
Microsoft has now included an optimized video output for iOS devices as well as optimized data transmission processes in order to speed up Xbox Cloud Gaming’s response time on Apple products. These reforms aim to reduce input latency (the delay between you moving a joystick and seeing that action appear on the screen in-game).
