Nicklas Bendtner, a former soccer star for Arsenal F.C., recently launched his own esports company known as Prosapia Esport ApS. This organization was created to “develop young people for sports events in esport with a view to developing talent in the esports environment.” Bendtner’s personal holding company founded the organization in Denmark, where the former soccer player is registered as the business’ CEO.
“I have no doubt that, within 10-20 years, esports will be one of the biggest sports in the world, if not the biggest,” said Bendtner in a January 2021 interview. “It would be stupid of me not to go in and invest in it in a relatively early process where you can still be involved without having to spend really, really big money.”
Bendtner is familiar with the esports and gaming space. In the past, he expressed high praise for the esports scene on his reality TV show, Bendtner & Philine, which aired on the Discovery+ streaming service.
Nicklas Bendtner is a 34-year-old former professional soccer player that spent nine years of his pro career as a striker for Arsenal. He also spent 12 years playing for the Danish National team where he scored 30 goals in 81 international appearances.
