Blizzard Entertainment recently confirmed that Geoff Goodman, the lead hero designer for Overwatch 2, is leaving the company. According to a spokesperson for the organization, Goodman chose to “leave Blizzard earlier this year.”
“We thank Geoff for his many years of service at Blizzard and wish him all the best,” the company said in a statement. “His ability to bring to life Overwatch’s diverse hero roster through gameplay has been incredible, and the mark he’s left on the Warcraft and Overwatch teams will be felt for years to come.”
Geoff Goodman has been with Blizzard for years, originally working on Project Titan. However, Titan was eventually canceled and reimagined as Overwatch, before later being released in 2016.
During his time with Blizzard, Goodman was responsible for the creation of many major Overwatch characters. He reworked the designs for Doomfist and Orisa. On top of that, he helped develop new heroes like Sojourn and Junker Queen.
