Simplicity Esports Announces Plans To Use Limited-Edition NFTs

Simplicity Esports and Gaming announced that the company plans on selling a series of limited edition NFTs (non-fungible tokens) exclusively to members of the business’ esports gaming centers. Simplicity Esports has the most gaming centers in North America with a database of over 400,000 customers.

Simplicity Esports and Gaming Company also recently said it was partnering with Project Token and the University of Central Florida Blockchain Innovation Lab to create, sell, and mint non-fungible tokens. That announcement came on March 19th, 2021.

“As we enter the summer months, we will be promoting memberships throughout the footprint. The memberships will give customers exclusive access to purchase limited-edition esports NFTs,” said Roman Franklin, the President of Simplicity Esports. “I see an opportunity for us to reward our members with access to unique events and items, such as NFTs as a thank you for their recurring commitment to our gaming centers. We are also in discussions with Project Token regarding other ways blockchain can make our gaming centers more secure, efficient, and beneficial to customers.”

NFTs work on blockchains, similarly to Bitcoin. However, the difference between the two is each bitcoin can be exchanged for another bitcoin, but one NFT cannot be exchanged for an identical NFT. They are used to mark ownership in a piece of digital media. This can apply to art, collectibles, and video games.
