Texas Schools Organize National Virtual Video Game Tournament

Recently, educators and students in the Ysleta Independent School District in Texas held a virtual video game tournament. The free event, entitled Everyone Games West, was held on April 9th and continued into Saturday.

The Video Games Club of America website listed the purpose of the event. “Allow students the opportunity to meet and connect with gaming industry insiders. Help students connect socially through gaming,” the website read. “Grant students the ability to talk directly with potential colleges and career fields. Help students gain insight into the world of Esports and potential career and college programs.”

The event was put on by the Video Game Clubs of America and the University of Texas at El Paso esports team “The Honey Badgers.”
