Electronic Arts Inc. recently announced it completed the acquisition of mobile gaming leader Glu Mobile. The deal is reportedly worth $2.1 billion in enterprise value.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Glu Mobile to our Electronic Arts family,” said Andrew Wilson, CEO of Electronic Arts. “The combination of our talented teams and powerful IP positions us as a leader in the largest gaming category in the world. We are forming a powerful growth engine that will expand our current games and deliver more amazing new experiences across sports, lifestyle, mid-core, and casual for players everywhere.”
The addition of Glu Mobile will allow EA to expand and grow its already massive mobile games offering. This deal will help EA build on its network of 100 million monthly active users.
Glu Mobile was founded in 2001 and is headquartered in San Francisco. Some of the organization’s more famous titles include Covet Fashion, Deer Hunter, Design Home, Diner DASH Adventures, Disney Sorcerer’s Arena, Kim Kardashian: Hollywood, and MLB Tap Sports Baseball.
