Electronic Arts recently announced it will utilize crowdfunding to provide the prize pool for the Apex Legends Global Series Championship. The pool is now expected to increase from the $1 million which was the original prize.
Beginning on May 18th, EA began offering new item bundles in the Apex Legends store. EA will add $5 to the prize pool for each bundle sold and $20 for each Animal Kingdom bundle purchased.
EA will reportedly cap the prize contribution at $2 million, meaning the company hopes to bolster a prize pool of $3 million. EA’s contribution program is scheduled to run until June 1st.
The Apex Legends Global Championship Series runs from May 22nd to June 13th. The EMEA Finals will take place on June 12th while the North American Championships will be held on June 13th.
