Floridian esports organization Misfits Gaming Group recently announced the launch of The Misfits Agency. This project aims to create a media company that helps other brands enter the gaming sector.
Amy Palmer was recently named the agency’s president. She spoke about this new initiative in a press release. “Working with The Misfits Gaming Group and Ben Spoont to build a next-generation agency for the esports and Gen-Z audiences that will dominate every sector of business in the next decade is an incredible opportunity,” she said. “I’m looking forward to creating high-level content that resonates with our audience, as well as helping to build and identify next-level content creators and influencers.”
The Misfits Agency already has plans for collaborations following its launch. It will reportedly be working with Hasbro and finance company SoFi.
Misfits Gaming Group is a global esports and entertainment organization based in South Florida. They have teams competing in titles like League of Legends, Overwatch, Clash Royale, and Call of Duty.
The Profit‘s Take:
This is a death spiral. The Activision Blizzard franchises are suffering. Launching an agency is obviously a distraction here and probably a hail-mary attempt to generate revenue for the business.
