Indian Esports Organizations Extending Support Towards COVID-19 Relief Effort

India is currently being intensely impacted by COVID-19. To aid in the fight against the Pandemic, many big-name Indian gaming organizations have made contributions to COVID-19 relief efforts.

The Mobile Premier League (MPL) and Give India teamed up to organize the Gamers for India Fundraiser on May 15th. The event was able to raise almost $111K for COVID-19 relief efforts.

Baazi Games organized a poker tournament called the O2 initiative. The company promised to donate 100% of the money raised through the tournament to Give India. The event raised over $4.5K.

“This initiative stands true to our brand values of being sensitive and thoughtful towards the surrounding environment,” said Varun Ganjoo, the co-founder of Baazi Games. “Along with the O2 initiative we were able to raise individual contributions from the poker community as well as from our Baazi team. We hope to see better times for India soon.”

Krafton Inc., the developer behind PUBG and PUBG Mobile, also made a hefty contribution. The organization donated over $205K to the PM Cares Fund.
