The esports start-up Community Gaming recently announced it had completed a $2.3 million seed round of funding. According to a press release, this money will help the company expand its operations in Latin America and Southeast Asia.
Financing was led by CoinFund. Contributions also came from Dapper Labs, Animoca Brands, Multicoin Capital, 1kx, Warburg Serres, Hashed, Play Ventures, WhaleShark, and Gen.G founder Kevin Chou.
“We are excited to have obtained support from major players in both the blockchain and gaming industries as we seek to bring web3 payment technology to millions of gamers worldwide and help accelerate the shift towards Play2Earn gaming ecosystems,” said Chris Gonsalves, the CEO of Community Gaming.
Community Gaming is a platform that focuses on creating an automated experience for esports tournament organizers. The organization hosts events for titles like League of Legends, DOTA 2, CS:GO, VALORANT, and Super Smash Bros.
