On July 8th, DeFine announced it will issue the first esports NFT in Asia with the Korean organization Sandbox Gaming. This nonfungible token will be based on the Crazyracing Kartrider pro Park In-soo, who has won numerous championships in the game.

Sandbox and DeFine held three NFT auctions on July 15th. This marked the first esports NFT auction in Asia. All bidders who participated in the events also received a limited-edition NFT based on Park’s pixel-art character.

“It is an honor to be able to NFTize the numerous achievements and record moments that Sandbox Gaming’s pro gamers have accumulated in the field of e-sports,” said Myung-Hoon Kang, the General Manager of DeFine Korea. “Through this auction, we will create new market opportunities combining the e-sports field and NFTs.”
