The Brazilian resort Costão do Santinho recently announced it made a $57.07 million investment to create a new gaming venue in Brazil. HubCG, which will be located in Florianópolis, is expected to begin operations this coming January.
The project was created by businessman Fernando Marcondes de Mattos, who is the founder of Costão do Santinho. The development of the gaming venue is also being co-led by Professor Carlos Alberto Schneider from the CERTI Foundation.
“The games market is on the rise in Brazil and we believe that this will be the ideal space for all gamers in the country to meet, whether to play, compete or develop games,” said Mattos. “Our goal is to put Florianópolis on the gaming map and transform HubCG into a reference center for the sector within five years.”
The venue will feature an esports arena, offices, workspaces, and gaming areas for professionals. HubCG will also have a space dedicated to esports education and game development.
