Kongregate Set To Launch Esports Portal Featuring NFT Games

Kongregate recently announced plans to release a new gaming portal that features nonfungible tokens. At this time, is expected to launch in open beta later this year.

Kongregate is a 15-year-old free-to-play gaming platform. This new initiative aims to create a comprehensive selection of competitive and .io-style games that can all be found in one place.

“We are now in the next level of starting something special with,” said CEO Marcus Lipp. “When we started this journey, we wanted to learn if the users were enthusiastic at all about NFTs, and we could see that they were. Then we started to follow up with additional products. The focus wasn’t on monetizing, but rather on learning.”

Kongregate was first launched in October of 2006. The organization is currently owned by Modern Times Group.
