Japanese Server Company Launching Country’s First Elderly Esports Team

S2 Inc. Ltd recently announced the organization will be launching a first-of-its-kind esports team dedicated to older gamers. It is being reported that the team will be called the Matagi Snipers to honor traditional Japanese hunters.

There are two requirements to join the team. Players must be at least 65-years-old and also must be official residents of the Akita Prefecture, in northeastern Japan.

S2 said it hopes to recruit ten members to the team by the end of August. The organization aims to have these players take part in official esports competitions and streams sometime this year.

S2 is a company that provides comprehensive IT management services to consumers around the globe. The organization was founded in 2006 and is currently based in Akita, Japan.
