Gamr announced it raised an undisclosed amount of money in a recent seed funding round. This money will be used to help expand the organization’s presence in the fast-growing African esports market.
Participants included Empawa Africa and Andrenaline Gaming. It is also being reported that other angel investors took part in this funding round.
“Africa is the final frontier for esports and Gamr is realizing this opportunity. African gamers have embraced us. We’ve built our community to over 60,000 and have hosted tournaments featuring thousands of gamers from across Africa. We’ve also built strategic partnerships with stakeholders across the globe,” said chief operating officer Sholakunmi Adenipebi.
Gamr is a start-up gaming company based in Nigeria. The organization reports having over 60,000 community members throughout Africa.
