Location And Format Unveiled For 2021 LoL Esports World Championship

We have new information about the 2021 League of Legends World Championship. According to a September 9th LoL Esports blog post, the 2021 LoL World Championship will be held this October in Reykjavik, Iceland.

The tournament series is scheduled to run from October 5th to November 6th. Worlds will be broken up into three parts: a play-in stage, a group play stage, and a knockout stage that will consist of quarterfinal, semifinal, and finals matches.

“While maintaining our focus on ensuring the health and safety of everyone involved in hosting, producing, and competing at the event, Worlds 2021 will not host a live audience,” the organization said in a blog post. “We will continue to use guidance from various health organizations and local and national authorities to prioritize everyone’s safety.”

The League of Legends World Championship will see participation from over 800 players from 100 different pro leagues around the world. A World Champion is expected to be crowned on November 6th.
