India Krafton Head Of Publishing Says Asian Games Inclusion Brings “Legitimacy” To Esports

According to India Krafton’s head of publishing, Aneesh Aravind, esports’ inclusion in the Asian Games brings legitimacy to professional gaming. Esports are expected to be featured at the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games which will take place next year.

“Esports being a part of the Asian Games certainly adds a lot of legitimacy,” said Aravind at the India Today Conclave 2021. “Not just for the games that are participating, but for the entire video game industry. Certainly, participating and competing for your country is a great feeling.”

Eight medal events and two demonstration games based on esports will be held at the 2022 Asian Games. Some of the titles that will be featured during the series include FIFA, League of Legends, Dota 2, Hearthstone, and more.
