On September 30th, Wade “Dreadnaught” Penfold was promoted to Vice President of Esports at Wisdom Gaming. In this position, Penfold will lead all Wisdom Gaming esports initiatives including collaborations, fielding competitive teams, expanding into new video games, and so on.
In the same announcement, Wisdom Gaming revealed it had rebranded its esports org (Alpine Esports) on Torrent. This signifies a new era for the business which is expecting to take on major expansion projects over the next two years.
“We’re thrilled to promote Wade as Wisdom Gaming’s first Vice President of Esports,” said Mike Zweigbaum, the Co-Founder of Wisdom Gaming. “Wade’s experience, passion, and deep understanding of the professional esports landscape has proven to be a monumental asset in setting the tone of the company’s business strategy and will continue to do so as we expand into additional territories.”
Wade Penfold first joined Wisdom Gaming as the organization’s director of esports in 2020. Before that, he spent years as a pro gamer, specializing in titles like Apex Legends, Rocket League, and Heroes of the Storm.
