The Seattle Seahawks recently announced their launching of Seahawks Sandbox, a new gaming community that will feature weekly tournaments and content for fans of the team. Made with the help of gaming platform provider Rival, Seattle Sandbox will be a destination for Seahawks fans to communicate, compete, and earn reward points that can be used to redeem exclusive team merchandise and prizes. The new platform will host 50 different tournaments throughout the NFL season on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, and PC.
“We are always looking for opportunities to further engage with our fans off the field, and we know esports and gaming is something both our fans and players enjoy,” said David Young, Chief Operating Officer of the Seahawks. “Whether it is competing in Madden or simply enjoying their favorite game with fellow 12s, the Seahawks are excited to partner with Rival to help launch Seahawks Sandbox and give our fans an opportunity to join a fun new Seahawks community online.”
Seattle will also be launching a new Seahawks Sandbox YouTube channel, with content released throughout the year, making the Seahawks the first team in the NFL to launch a dedicated gaming YouTube channel. The account will occasionally feature popular Seattle esports influencers like Marcel “BasicallyIDoWrk” Cunningham and Daniel “Dcroft” Mycroft live streaming during the season
Fans can begin earning points by registering with their gamertag at the Seahawks portion of the Rival website starting on October 14th. The Seahawks will host multiple tournaments with influencers and players, providing over $5,000 in prizes during the season. And for those looking for a less competitive experience, the Seahawks will host multiple Minecraft realms for fans to visit and build their very own community. Both Survival and Creative maps will be available for fans to explore and build with access via the Seahawks Rival Platform.
