IKEA Singapore Enters Gaming With New Furniture And “Dota 2” Tournament

IKEA and the Republic of Gamers (ROG) have collaborated on a whole new line of gaming products set for release in November in Singapore. This new gaming range is targeted at PC gamers specifically and features more than thirty products including gaming chairs, gaming desks, storage solutions, and even gaming-themed mug holders, hoodies, and mousepads. 

IKEA Singapore is also organizing its first-ever esports competition, a Dota 2 tournament that will have participants duking it out 1v1. Interested gamers can sign up for either the professional category, for gamers with MMR 3360 and above, or the casual category, for gamers with MMR 3359 and below.

The winner of the professional category will win a $2,000 IKEA Gift card and a ROG Strix XG17AHP Portable Gaming Monitor (worth $999). The winner of the casual category will take home a $1,000 IKEA gift card, a ROG Claymore II Wireless Keyboard, and a ROG Gladius III Wireless Mouse (worth $618). For each category, second place will receive a $500 IKEA gift card, while third and fourth place will each receive a $300 IKEA gift card. Registration is open from November 4th through the 15th. Qualifiers will be held online and Finals (Top 16 players in each category) will be held in IKEA Tampines on November 20th.

There’s also a limited-edited tote bag available on November 20th by spending a minimum of $50 in-store on home furnishing products in a single receipt. The bags are limited to the first 200 redemptions per store, one bag per customer. To celebrate the launch of the new gaming range, IKEA Family members can enjoy the new Charcoal hotdog for $1.50 (instead of the usual price of $2.00) for the entire month of November.
