According to a recent report from New Economy, Square Enix is interested in expanding its blockchain and NFT business. This comes after the organization discussed its Million Arthur project during a recent financial presentation.
In June of this year, Square Enix announced it would begin selling Million Arthur NFTs using LINE Blockchain. The company, which began selling these non-fungible tokens on October 14th, is reporting that the NFTs have already sold out.
“Games are further expanding from centralized into decentralized formats,” Square Enix wrote on a presentation slide. “In addition to the sort of content creation we have traditionally engaged in, we will focus on blockchain games premised on token economies as a form of decentralized content.”
Square Enix is a Japanese video game company and entertainment conglomerate. The Tokyo-based organization was founded in September of 1975.
