Russia’s “eSports Games Of The Future” Coming In 2023

According to the country’s Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, Russia plans on hosting a multi-discipline event called “eSports Games of the Future.” The event is reportedly scheduled to take place in 2023.

Based on a recent proposal from the Russian Government, the event series would include up to 15 “high-tech” disciplines. This is expected to include esports, drone racing, virtual reality gaming, and so on.

“Saransk has every chance to compete for the title of the host city of the event, which will be held in 2023,” said Chernyshenko. “The selection will be conducted on a competitive basis, we will sum up the results in May next year.  I am confident that the movement will be able to capture the attention of the audience.  I think we can overcome the inertia of certain groups taken, stimulate the development of science, and the best digital achievements. I think this will be a great addition to our traditional leadership in traditional sports.”

At this time, not much is known about the event. An official start and end date for the eSports Games of the Future has not yet been announced.
